Overview
Cricket Australia captures consent from participants under 18 years old (and their parent/guardian) to film and live stream cricket matches.
The objective of collecting consent (or withdrawal of consent) at the time of registration is to enable clubs and participants feel safe when participating in a match that is being livestreamed knowing there are appropriate measures in place.
Consent is only required for participants who are under 18 years old at their registration date. Participants who are 18 years or older are automatically eligible for filming and streaming and cannot opt out via PlayHQ.
This guide explains how the consent system works and where you can view participants consent settings.
Viewing Participant Video Consent Status
As an administrator within Cricket Australia, you can check a player's video consent status in several locations:
Via participant profiles
View individual consent status when managing participant information.
- Navigate to the Participants page or a competition season Participant List
- Search for and select the participant you want to view
- Find the Video Consent section
- View the participant's current video consent status (Yes/No)
Via participant reports
Generate reports showing consent status across multiple participants.
- Navigate to Reports
- Access the Competition Participants Report (via the Report Builder or generate a legacy Competition Participants Report)
- View the 'Video Consent Setting' column to view each participant's current video consent status (Yes/No)
This is useful for auditing consent across your entire organisation or specific teams before the season begins.

For Coaches and Team Managers
Via MyTeams
Team managers and coaches can quickly verify consent through MyTeams, or in team-specific reports showing consent for your players and opposition.
This allows you to:
Confirm your team's streaming eligibility
Coordinate with opposition teams regarding consent status
Provide necessary information to streaming providers (like Frogbox)
Streaming and Broadcasting Impact
This consent system enables Cricket Australia and streaming providers like Frogbox to operate in full compliance with regulations regarding minors in broadcasts.
Full Team Consent: When all players under 18 have consented (plus any adult players), the match can be live streamed without restrictions.
