Understanding accreditation sync

How your completions appear in PlayHQ

When you complete a course or accreditation in The Breakdown, it automatically syncs to your PlayHQ profile. This typically happens within 24 hours of completion.

Your accreditations are visible to:

  • Provincial union administrators
  • Rugby Canada administrators
  • Club administrators (where relevant to your role)

This automatic sync means you don't need to manually report your course completions - they're always up-to-date in PlayHQ.

Frequently asked questions

I've completed at least one registration but don't see the Accreditations tab. What should I do? The Accreditations tab appears after you complete your first registration with Rugby Canada. If you've registered but still don't see it, try logging out and back in. If the issue persists, contact Rugby Canada support.

Can I access The Breakdown before completing a registration? No, you need to complete at least one registration with Rugby Canada in PlayHQ before you can access The Breakdown. This ensures your profile is properly set up and linked between the systems.

I completed a course in The Breakdown but it's not showing in PlayHQ. Why not? Course completions typically sync within 24 hours. If it's been longer than that, first check that you completed the full accreditation (some accreditations require multiple courses). If you've completed all required courses and it's still not showing after 24 hours, contact Rugby Canada support.

What's the difference between a course and an accreditation? An accreditation is made up of one or more courses. For example, the Concussion accreditation includes six different courses - five online and one practical examination. PlayHQ displays completed accreditations rather than individual courses.

Do I need separate logins for PlayHQ and The Breakdown? No. Once you access The Breakdown through PlayHQ, you're automatically logged in using your PlayHQ credentials. You don't need to create or remember a separate password for The Breakdown.

My accreditation is showing as expired. What do I need to do? Some accreditations have expiry dates and require periodic renewal. Log into The Breakdown through PlayHQ and complete the renewal course. Your accreditation status will update in PlayHQ once you've completed the requirements.

Can I complete accreditations from other provinces? The Breakdown includes learning from Rugby Canada and all provincial unions in one system. You can access any courses or accreditations available to you based on your registrations and roles. If you move between provinces, your completed accreditations come with you.

I'm a parent managing my child's registration. How do they complete required courses? If your child needs to complete courses in The Breakdown, they'll need their own PlayHQ account. You can invite them to claim their profile, which allows them to set up their own login and access The Breakdown independently.
